Mike Kennedy is a master woodcarver, stair builder, and tangent handrailer based in in the rural town of Foster, Rhode Island. Mike specializes in both custom, high-end staircases and historical reconstruction. He has designed and built custom staircases for many of the finest homes in southern New England.

Fusing his knowledge of historical techniques with modern practices and artistic vision, Mike crafts unique and timeless staircases that blend form and function without compromise.

In addition his work as a master stair builder, Mike is also a luthier and artist. He has handcrafted a wide range of instruments: Sitka spruce electric guitars, mahogany and maple acoustic guitars, curly maple mandolins. His sculptures, small and large, have found homes from northern Maine to the southern tip of Florida.
